Current location:My quarters. I assume.
Current mood: confused

Why?
There's a library here. I've been in it. Why didn't anyone tell me about these?

Eight hundred feet long? Crew complement of two thousand? Thirty-three knots?

I think I'm in love. Dead ships can come here as well as dead persons, yes?

Or those "planes". Or the "space shuttle". Did all that only take two hundred years? Incidentally, I'm also covered in snow. Got caught up in it on my way back to my quarters. The weather has become more insane than the Sparrow Collection today. And speaking of my quarters, which one of you ridiculous pair has interfered them? They were decently spartan before and now they look rather silly. And there's a balcony...with wisterias. Really rather pleasant, I suppose.

[[ooc: What they look like now, obviously with Susan removed. Because that would freak him out too much.]]

They have nothing of what you speak of in the world I come from! Those machines are... bizarre... and large.

I know, incredible isn't it? Iron hulls, who'd have thought it! Near impenetrable to cannon fire. Apparently if the damn thing's big enough, the buoyancy compensates and they'll float!... Ah.. you must be Mister Turner's pater. Pleased to make your acquaintance. Fine boy you've produced, if a little rash at times, speaking as one who can be rather rash myself, you understand.

Unbelievable. And near impenetrable to cannonfire? How do they move? Where's the Sail?-

They're quite common in the Lower World. I've... well. I've had to do some work on several.

The city decided to clean itself up today and several of us got her things to play with... ^^

Are you alright?

As well as can be expected, Ran. At least I've an intact jaw now. You seem to have been having a rough time of it lately, though, I'm sorry to see. Got your large cat back yet?

What are they like inside, please?

I did... the lazy little snot had invaded Jan's room and was napping. Everything's fine, though. We went hunting last night.

Well, the ones I've seen the inside of were underwater, but very cramped... lots of smallish rooms and such.

Don't think I could very well be, seeing as I'm an officer of the law. But there is a difference between noble war and what those battleships were created for. The Great War made any hostilities with the Colonies and France look like mere playground squabbles.

Imagine one of those space shuttles. Now imagine one of those space shuttles going out and leaving you in another large metal contraption in space for you to live in.

In short, space stations: home away from earth. Except it's mostly scientific research for now. No one lives out there for the heck of it yet.

Well, it was like being strapped into a giant metal coffin in some sense.

Seated behind the pilot as I was I didn't have too much of a view, but experiencing the G's when we took banks and turns was both exilerating and nauseating.

Take off was really just that; hopping directly into the air, but we landed normally onto the deck.

I got to sit in an F-14 on the same trip that I rode the Harrier, but only for a few minutes for a photo op.

By the way, you can call me Scarab.

What can I call you?

Commander? There's a new one. But let's not mince words, eh? You're after soldiers, aren't you, angel? I keep my ear to the ground, or rather my eye to the box. Convince me that it's in a good cause.

Tisk-tisk. What would you prefer? Your present aspect leaves a bit to be desired, in terms of martial propriety - and so it begs the question of whether, indeed, you are still affiliated with military forces. Commander implies the expertise. Commodore would refer to a rak that I've no certainty you've still a claim to.

You're not letting yourself at all courted into these things. I'm not seeking soldiers, but... allies of sort. Doesn't that sound ever so much prettier in terms of the World Domination Pension Plan?

Persuasion plays no part in this. Stay here, and wither away. Help kill them, and you get a divine say on which part of their intestines bathe the city, and which part we keep for personal decorations.

[ OOC : but! But! Parsley! ]
